A pregnant woman with her unborn child was killed in a parking park after reportedly being hit by a concrete block.
Dianne Miller’s brother verified the awful news Thursday evening, adding their family was ‘devastated.’
Ms Miller, 30, was also the mother of an eight-month-old baby.
A murder investigation has been launched by WA Police
A 17-year-old kid had previously been charged with inflicting significant bodily injury and failing to appear in court.
Ms Miller had a cardiac attack when a piece of concrete was reportedly hurled through her vehicle window and hit her head while grocery shopping with her young family in Perth on Tuesday.
Ms Miller, who was five months pregnant then, was battling for her life at Royal Perth Hospital.
Mr Clifton said that his younger sister had always pretended to be the eldest and supported everyone in the family.
‘She’s our rock, but now I have to be everyone else’s rock,’ he said.
‘She’s the most beautiful woman you’ll ever meet.’
Before Ms Miller’s death was confirmed, Premier Mark McGowan described the situation as “very, very awful.”
‘I believe her family is going through a really terrible time.’ ‘It’s heartbreaking for her and her unborn kid,’ he said to reporters.
‘It’s one of those things that is unfathomable that this could happen to someone.’
‘It’s a heartbreaking occurrence that no one would want on anybody.
Ms Miller was scheduled to learn the gender of her second child next week.
Mr Clifton told reporters outside the hospital on Wednesday that his sister and her unborn child were “extremely unlikely” to live.
‘They will continue to monitor her brain.’ If it continues to enlarge, it will cut off blood flow to her brain, leaving her brain dead, and the baby will die as a result,’ he said.
The child is too young to be born
Mr Clifton said that he “wouldn’t want this on anybody.”
‘We have been devastated, and we need justice.’ We want these individuals, whoever they are, we want what is rightfully theirs,’ he stated.
According to police, a fight broke out between 7 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. on Tuesday at the Waterford Plaza carpark on Manning Rd in Karawara.
“It will be alleged that the 17-year-old boy hurled a rock at the vehicle during the dispute, which went through the open front passenger-side window, striking a 30-year-old pregnant lady in the head and causing her to fall into cardiac arrest,” police said in a statement on Wednesday.
Until paramedics came, Ms Miller was given CPR by police officers and members of the public.
The Kensington teen has been charged with inflicting serious bodily injury and failing to appear in court.
On Wednesday, he appeared in Perth Children’s Court and will have a bail hearing next week.
The parties were unknown to each other, according to Inspector Brett Baddock.
“I just put it down to (supposedly) stupid, unprovoked violence, which is unacceptable and will not be tolerated,” he told reporters.
