Police Investigation

At around seven o’clock in the evening, news crews saw officials at Barrington Beach’s Rhode Island Country Club removing a kayak from the water.

Just before 5 p.m. on Sunday, Warwick Police Captain Charles Boisseau said the department received a call regarding a missing kayaker.

Boisseau continued, saying he thought Chant had been gone for almost five hours before Warwick became involved.
The Warren Police Department said that it was also conducting a search.

Officials said that the incident is still being looked into.
