A US school superintendent blamed 14-year-old Adriana Kuch’s suicide on the tormented kid and her distraught father, saying she took drugs and her father’s “affair” caused her inner agony.
Superintendent Triantafillos Parlapanides rambled about the bereaved family’s grief when asked what school assistance Adriana received before she committed suicide days after being abused at school, the New York Post writes.
Her father had an affair in 6th grade. “Her father married the lady he had an affair with and brought her into the house,” Parlapanides told the Daily Mail.
“Her 7th and 8th grade grades and choices decreased. “We offered her drug rehab and psychiatric therapy five times, but the father declined,” he added. The administrator then claimed the encounter caused Adriana’s birth mother’s death.
“We tried assisting her multiple times but mother’s suicide was a big reason she started making wrong choices,” the school administrator stated.
Adriana committed suicide in a closet two days after a video was leaked online of a group of girls striking her with a water bottle and harassing her as she walked with her boyfriend in a school hallway on Feb. 1.
After defending the school and maybe the bullies who hit Kuch on Facebook, the superintendent said.
“There are two sides to every story and when was the last time you were at Central,” Parlapanides remarked after an upset father declared he’d never bring his children to the school after Adriana’s savage bullying.
Michael Kuch, Adriana’s grieving father, declined drug counselling for his daughter, who he said was just experimenting with a cannabis vape like many other kids.
“He’s very much blaming her,” Adriana Kuch told The Post.
“Your school attacked my daughter and you did nothing. “And now you want to put this on everyone else but yourself because you failed and you sucked at your job,” he raged.
“Resign and maybe become a Walmart greeter. “I don’t care,” he fumed. Kuch told The Post Parlapanides was showboating for the media and that Adriana’s mother’s terrible death was unrelated to his daughter’s suicide.
“Adrianna’s mother’s dying seven years ago has nothing to do with why she passed now,” Kuch added. “Nothing is related.”
Kuch claimed he met with Parlapanides on Monday, but the superintendent refused to discuss Adriana’s death, instead focusing on his son Ethan’s school integration.
“I responded, ‘I’m not f–king here to speak about my son Ethan. Daughter died. “Why the f—k would I talk about him now?” he said.
Kuch, who previously criticised school officials for failing to safeguard his daughter, recognised the teen’s mother’s addiction and terrible 2015 death.
This Monday, Parlapanides defended the school’s choice not to notify police after Adriana was assaulted, saying it was against school rules and that the bullies were punished and would’ve faced a “double whammy” if police were called.
