The people of South Africa can receive different forms of income support from the country’s Social Security Agency. SASSA R350 Grant Payment Date
Through the Social Relief of Distress Award, SASSA has paid South African people SRD350 for January 2024. Recipients can check for their payments on . thirty days. The SASSA payment status can be viewed at https://srd.sassa.gov.za/ for those who are interested.
In order to receive notifications regarding approval or pending status, users must provide their phone number and SRD ID number in order to access the SRD350. For people without sufficient support who are struggling financially and between the ages of 18 and 60, SASSA offers the R350 Social Relief of Distress Grant.
SASSA R350 Grant Payment Eligibility
In order to be eligible for the payment of the SASSA R350 grant, you must:
- Citizenship: Must be a citizen of South Africa, a permanent resident, a refugee, or the bearer of a special permit (the Zimbabwe Exemption Permit, the Lesotho or Angolan Permit).
- Age range: (as of March 2024) 18–59 years old.
- Income: A maximum monthly income of R624 or less is required to pass the means test. SASSA takes into account the income of your entire household, not just your own.
- Employment: Not collecting unemployment benefits (UIF, NSFAS, etc.) and unemployed.
- Social funding: Not currently receiving any other social funding from SASSA, with the possible exception of the Foster Child Grant.
- Residency: Not living in a state-run facility (a prison, an assisted living facility, etc.).
SASSA could ask for more proof of identity in order to confirm your eligibility.
