Kenneth DeHart, the person accused of killing Blount County, Tennessee, Deputy Greg McCowan and injuring Deputy Shelby Eggers, was stuck Tuesday in Knox County, according to U.S. Marshal for the Eastern District of Tennessee David Jolley.

He was taken into custody at a domestic on Linden Avenue, consistent with the Knoxville Police Department.

DeHart became wanted for first-diploma murder and tried first-diploma homicide within the shooting, Blount County Sheriff’s Office officials said. Early reports of the taking pictures from the BCSO said DeHart turned into stopped for using unevenly, then matters escalated, leading to the taking pictures.

“Kenneth Wayne DeHart was taken into custody a short time in the past in Knoxville! Now, the judicial process will take place in the court docket system. Thanks to all of our regulation enforcement companions and our network,” BCSO officials stated.

The search for DeHart has been ongoing since Thursday night when the taking pictures took place. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation issued a Blue Alert for DeHart. The TBI teamed up with federal agencies to join in the seek, just like the U.S. Marshals.

“The first issue I heard sounded like a bomb. Then I looked out the door, and I noticed all this smoke,” Martin stated. “I figured it turned into a smoke bomb. However, I didn’t understand what had happened. I had no idea what was taking place. And then that’s after I commenced seeing these kinds of cops with their guns drawn and in the back of automobiles. But I still didn’t understand what changed into taking place until afterward till somebody stated the person came in there that had shot the officer.”

Law enforcement and community members like Smith & Wesson CEO Mark Smith also offered rewards for any sort of information on DeHart.

Berrong said, “I want the death penalty,” From Thursday, the Maryville and Blount County communities have been rallying around the McCowan family to offer their support.

Blount County Community members took to the streets as McCowan’s body was escorted from the Knox County Forensics Center to Smith Funeral Home. Local businesses and groups have also been donating to support McCowan’s family.

DeHart’s arrest follows the arrest of two others in this case: his girlfriend, Carrie Matthews, and his brother, Marcus DeHart, as they both were charged with accessory after the fact.
