What Took Place?
An unsolved mystery surrounds the disappearance of a Tamworth man over two years ago. William Lee was last seen in The Broom park in Dostshill, close to Cadogan Road, on April 18, 2021. The family of Mr. Lee, who was 79 at the time of his kidnapping, is still waiting for clarification.
The police investigation against the owner of the dog was referred to as the “largest” in Staffordshire. In July 2021, police ended their “active search” for Mr. Lee, but they are still appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Investigation
In Slade Lane in Dosthill, his black Ford Fiesta NV54 AON was found next to some stables. His Yorkshire terrier with short hair, Daisy, was discovered unharmed while travelling between Slade Lane and Cliff Lake.
The most intensive search for Bill Lee ever seen in Staffordshire, according to Staffordshire Police this week. Bill has not been seen again since going missing in April 2021, and sadly the intensive search phase concluded in July of that year.
West Yorkshire Police divers, an underwater marine team, a specialised sonar, and Staffordshire Search & Rescue all contributed to the search effort. This includes seeing through the RSPB lake near Dosthill, which is nearly 17 metres deep in some places and measures 784 x 235 metres.
