Who Was David Elder?
David Elder started his professional career when he was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 1997 amateur draught. He spent four seasons with them before being traded to the Tulsa Drillers in 2001.
He was dealt to the Cleveland Indians on December 18, 2001, for John Rocker, an Oklahoma State teammate. Elder eventually retired from professional baseball in 2005 after playing for the New Orleans Zephyrs in 2004 and spending three seasons and 81 games with the Indians between 2002 and 2004.
