Who was Michelle Mullen?

Michelle Mullen, full name Michelle Mully Mullen, was a 52-year-old South Brisbane Crime Prevention Unit officer serving as Senior Sergeant at Holland Park Station, which Officer presently commands in Charge Kylie Doyle.

Michelle worked for many years at the Holland Park Station, looking for the north end of our neighbourhood from Broadwater Road north. She was a devoted police officer who was well-liked and respected by many.

How did Michelle Mullen die? 

Michelle Mullen died tragically on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, after being badly injured in the Chermside indoor skydiving area, according to sources. Six days ago, on January 19, 2023, Senior Sergeant Michelle Mullen crashed with the side of the wind tunnel at the iFly indoor skydiving facility in Chermside, northern Brisbane, suffering head and spinal injuries.

Following the accident, paramedics, including a critical care team, were summoned to the indoor skydiving centre at 4.20 p.m. Michelle was flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in serious condition. However, after six days of fighting the injuries she sustained in the indoor skydiving accident, Mullen died of the damages on Wednesday, January 25, 2023.

Who announced Michelle Mullen’s death?

Brisbane-based “7NEWS BRISBANE” reported the tragic news of Michelle Mullen’s death via a post on their official Twitter handle, @7NewsBrisbane. “Friends and family are grieving the loss of a Brisbane police officer who was gravely injured at the Chermside indoor skydiving precinct,” the message adds. Acting Senior Sergeant Michelle Mullen sustained brain and spinal injuries and died in the hospital after a week.”

Corrine McMillan, MP and State Member for Mansfield, made a tribute message on her Facebook account to express her sorrow for Michelle Mullen’s passing. “It is with great regret that I am now able to share with you that one of our excellent and really committed local police officers, acting Senior Sergeant Michelle Mullen, lost her struggle for life following an indoor skydiving accident,” according to the message.

“Michelle has worked at the Holland Park Station for many years, looking for the northern part of our neighbourhood from Broadwater Rd. north.”

“Michelle will certainly be missed. Our thoughts go out to her family, her friends, and the whole crew at Holland Park Station, led by Officer in Charge Kylie Doyle.
