Leaving The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is Lisa Rinna. Rinna is leaving the adored franchise after eight seasons of delivering sassy one-liners, drama-filled moments, social media messiness, and self-deprecating lip humour, PEOPLE can exclusively confirm.
“This is the longest job I have held in my thirty five-year career,” adds Rinna, 59, in a statement. “I am thankful to everyone at Bravo and all those engaged in the series.” I’ve had a good time during the last eight years, and I’m excited about the future.
Because Rinna’s contract was set to expire at the conclusion of the previous campaign, the decision was taken. Before she and Bravo decided that she would not return to RHOBH, she carefully examined her options and her professional obligations.
In the franchise’s fifth season, which debuted in 2014, Rinna debuted. The actress got into one of the most famous brawls on the show during her first season when she threw a wine glass at then-costar Kim Richards, who implied Rinna didn’t want the truth to get out about her husband Harry Hamlin.
The former star of Days of Our Lives is also well-known for the mantra “Own it, baby,” to which she lived her life.
To RHOBH fans, however, Rinna’s departure probably won’t be a surprise. Even though she’s compared herself to a “cockroach” you “can’t get rid of,” she made a lot of major hints about the likelihood throughout season 8.
“I was Lisa F—ing Rinna before HW and I’ll be Lisa F—ing Rinna after,” Rinna wrote alongside a throwback photo from before the Housewives. She then continued with lyrics from “Roxie,” which Rinna also played on Broadway in 2007, next to a picture of Renée Zellweger in the 2002 film Chicago.
“I’m a star! The audience adores me! And I adore them. And they appreciate the fact that I care about them. And I appreciate their support of me. And we care about each other. And the reason for that is that none of us received enough love when we were young. The image read, “And that’s showbiz, kid.
Rinna claimed that her numerous online rants, including those directed at some Real Housewives of Dubai cast members, were motivated by her “grief” following the death of her mother Lois in November 2021.
She stated, “I have had a really terrible time of it, I think you’ve seen how hard this has impacted me,” in an Instagram post from July that has since been removed. I apologize if I have been irate with any of you; you are not at all the focus of my rage.
She continued, “I then criticized RHOBH for failing to properly memorialize Lois, focusing instead on pointless drama from the previous season that resurfaced. “Grace was only shown to me once. That’s it,” Rinna penned. “Lois deserved and merits a great deal more. Let’s all be ashamed. “.
