Former UFC fighter Phil Baroni has been charged with murder in the death of his fiancée, according to Tribuna De La Bahia.

Reason of his arrest

The former mixed martial artist and boxer was arrested and accused with murder in San Pancho, Mexico. According to the article, Baroni had a fight with his girlfriend after she admitted to cheating on him. After she refused to take a shower, Baroni reportedly shoved her in, causing her to fall and strike her head. Baroni alleges he brought her back to bed before leaving the room to grab her smokes and drink. The woman was unconscious when he returned to the room.

He murdered his girlfriend 

Baroni called the cops, who discovered his girlfriend nude on the bed, wrapped in a sheet, with no vital signs. Bruises on her face and torso show that she was beaten. To ascertain the cause of death, an autopsy will be done.

Phil Baroni Career 

Baroni participated in the UFC from 2001 to 2005, making appearances at UFC 106 and UFC 125. He finished his Octagon career with a 3-5 record.

His final professional bout was in 2019, and he lost by submission to Sai Wang, bringing his career record to 16-19.

He fought for Pride, Strikeforce, Bellator, and One Championship, among others.

Baroni, also known as the “New York Bad Ass,” was a fan favorite owing to his action-heavy style and noisy character. Baroni finished the sport with a 16-19 record and a 3-6 record inside the Octagon. The 49-year-old last competed in MMA in 2019, but he will fight professionally in 2021. In 2019, Baroni competed in many pro wrestling matches, including one for Game Changer Wrestling at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport.
