How are Social Security payment dates determined?
On the 2nd, third, and fourth Wednesdays of every month, the Social Security Administration mails payments. If your birthday falls between the twenty first and thirty first of the month, your payment will be sent on the 4th Wednesday of the month.
What if I get both Social Security and SSI?
If you earned Social Security payments before to May 1997 or if you receive both Social Security and SSI, the payment schedule is different. You’ll receive your Social Security payments on the third of every month and your SSI benefits on the first of every month instead of getting paid on Wednesdays. However, if the first or third day of the month falls on a weekend, these payment dates are altered. For example, this year October 1 fell on a Saturday, so SSI recipients received their October payments a day before September 30 and their Social Security payments on Monday, October 1. 3. The same applies in December for January 2023 payments.
