At 100 years old, how the Communist Party controls the state and the life of the Chinese; listen to the podcast – 06/30/2021 – Podcasts

The Chinese Communist Party is celebrating its 100th anniversary with such a strong presence in the lives of the Chinese people that the party’s functions even merge with the state apparatus itself.

In the news and on the internet, speech is filtered by the ideological orientations of the party, which has 92 million members. In the most common activities, like paying for coffee with a digital card, the party takes action.

In relations between citizens and public authorities, neighborhood municipalities guide populations on health measures, works, the census count and, more recently, the queue for the Covid vaccine. Nationalist, the party represses opponents and tries to extend the country’s influence on the world stage.

To understand China, it is essential to understand how the party functions in society. This Wednesday (30) Breakfast explains how legend controls the state, power and even the lives of the Chinese. For this, the podcast listens to journalist Igor Patrick, who subscribes to the blog and newsletter “China, Terra do Meio” for Folha.

The audio program is published on Spotify, the streaming service partner of Folha in the initiative and specializing in music, podcast and video. You can listen to the episode by clicking below. To access the application, simply register for free.
