Prince Harry, 36, is making arrangements to travel to the UK after the death of his grandfather, Prince Philip, husband of Queen Elizabeth II. According to the Daily Mail, he wants to be with his family during this time of pain.
“Harry will do everything possible to return to the UK and be with his family,” a source close to him said. “He will want nothing more than to be there for his family, and especially his grandmother, during this terrible time.”
It has not yet been announced when he will travel and be accompanied by his wife, Meghan Markle, who is pregnant with the couple’s second child, and her one-year-old son Archie. “Meghan is pregnant so she will have to follow the advice of her doctors on whether she can travel safely, but I think Harry will definitely go,” the source said.
The British tabloid claims Harry received the news of the death ahead of the royal household’s public statement. It should be remembered that the couple’s relations were strained with their family after the interview they gave to presenter Oprah Winfrey, 67, in which they criticized royalty.
The couple have yet to speak publicly about Philip’s death, which other royals have done on social media. Prince Charles, who would celebrate Friday (9) the wedding anniversary with Camila Parker Bowles, paid tribute to his father.
Philip died at the age of 99. He was released from a London hospital on March 16. He was hospitalized for a month as a “precautionary measure” after being ill. Then he was transferred from the hospital and underwent heart surgery. He would be 100 years old in June.
