On May 24, 2019, Dulos was said to have disappeared after her five children were dropped off at school. She was going through a difficult divorce and custody dispute with their father at the time, her divorced husband Fotis Dulos, who had outstanding warrants for about $7 million. Before passing away in 2020, shortly after being arrested for his wife’s murder, Fotis Dulos was the main suspect in her murder.
Troconis was living in his Farmington home, where his wife had previously resided, with her daughter and in a relationship with Fotis Dulos when Jennifer Dulos vanished. After his passing, she became the center of attention for the case. She gained notoriety as “the other woman” after the scandal made headlines and became even more so when it became the subject of the 2021 Lifetime film “Gone Mom.”
Fotis Dulos was charged by state police with using an employee’s truck to travel to New Canaan and cycling to Jennifer Dulos’ residence on the day of her disappearance. They claimed that after his wife got home from their kids’ school, he attacked her in the garage before putting her back in her car and taking off.
What Transpired In The Court?
In addition to five other counts, Michelle Troconis was found guilty of plotting Jennifer Dulos’ murder in 2019.
After more than two full days of deliberation, a six-member jury in Stamford Superior Court returned its verdict on Friday.
When the guilty verdicts were revealed on Friday morning, Troconis sobbed.
She was found guilty of the following charges:-
- Count 1: Conspiracy to commit murder
- Count 2: Conspiracy to commit tampering with physical evidence (May 24, 2019 events)
- Count 3: Tampering with physical evidence (May 24, 2019 events)
- Count 4: Conspiracy to commit tampering with physical evidence (May 29, 2019 events)
- Count 5: Tampering with physical evidence (May 29, 2019 events)

After the verdict was read, state prosecutors asked that Troconis’ $2.6 million bond be revoked or raised.
Her bond was increased to $6 million by the judge. In the event that she posts bond, she will have to wear an electronic monitoring device and be confined to her home while she files an appeal.
