Thomas Kingston was a financier who married into the royal family after a summer proposal on the island of Sark almost six years ago.
He was the husband of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent’s daughter, Lady Gabriella Kingston, 56th in line to the throne. The 45-year-old, known as Tom, was found dead at an address in Gloucestershire on Sunday evening.
He was well-liked by Pippa Middleton, the sister of the Princess of Wales, and the two were frequently spotted together.
In May 2017, he went to James Matthews’ wedding with Lady Gabriella, also known as Ella.
Thomas Kingston’s Cause Of Death
It has been revealed that Thomas Kingston died under tragic circumstances.
The husband of Lady Gabriella Kingston passed away five days ago, and it appears that he committed suicide. Multiple outlets reported on March 1 that the 45-year-old passed away from a traumatic head wound, citing a coroner’s inquest.
Thomas, a financier and Pippa Middleton’s ex-boyfriend, passed away on February 25, as his family confirmed at the time.
Senior coroner Katy Skerrett stated at a hearing held on March 1 at Gloucestershire Coroner’s Court that Thomas was discovered “deceased with a catastrophic head injury” while visiting his parents Martin and Jill Kingston’s home in the southwest Cotswolds.
His Family, with utmost sadness and pain, broke down the news with flickered hands and were only able to write the last line for him as “It is with the deepest sorrow that we announce the death of Thomas Kingston, our beloved husband, son, and brother,” his family had said in a statement after his death. “Tom was an exceptional man who lit up the lives of all who knew him. His death has come as a great shock to the whole family, and we ask you to respect our privacy as we mourn his passing.”
A few hours prior to the public announcement of Kingston’s passing, Queen Camilla, 76, was present at the Thanksgiving service at St. George’s Chapel with Lady Gabriella’s parents, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, and other members of the royal family, paying tribute to King Constantine of Greece, who passed away the previous year.
Lady Gabriella’s godfather was the late King of Greece, and she went to his funeral the previous year on behalf of Prince William, another of Constantine’s godchildren.
