Maon Kurosaki’s cause of death
Her agency, Art One Entertainment, disclosed the news of Maon Kurosaki’s untimely death on February 16 from a severe chronic disease on Tuesday.
As of September 2021, Kurosaki had emergency surgery for Epidural Hematoma after passing out during a live-streamed concert earlier that month. She had a disorder where blood leaked between her skull and the membrane surrounding her brain.
Who is Maon Kurosaki?
As a result of her success at Akihabara, Tokyo’s Otaku retail district, Kurosaki Maon was signed to a major label and went on to record the ending themes for the anime series Highschool of the Dead.
After being found while she was performing in Akihabara, Tokyo, she made her big debut in 2010 by singing the concluding themes for the anime television series Highschool of the Dead.
Her first album, titled H.O.T.D. and featuring the Highschool of the Dead concluding themes, was published in September of 2010. Her first two singles were used as outro songs for the A Certain Magical Index II anime series.
Kurosaki’s compositions were influenced by Maon’s enthusiasm for anime and lolicon style. Her music has been featured in a wide variety of anime, including Jormungand, Tokyo Ravens, and The Fruit of Grisaia.
She has collaborated with Mami Kawada, Kotoko, and Trustrick, among others, on her musical albums.
At 2011’s Anime Expo in Los Angeles, she gave two performances.
An active singer, Maon Kurosaki is a regular at Japanese anime events like LisAni, Animelo Summer Live, and Animax Musix.
She’s also done shows at CharaExpo, Bangkok Comic Con, and the Anime Festival Asia. From 2011 to 2016, she and Motsu of the band Move fronted the synthpop band Altima.
Since at least January 2008, Maon Kurosaki has been performing at the Akihabara bar and performance space Dear Stage.
After she signed with Geneon Universal Entertainment, music producer Akihiro Tomita heard her perform and decided to produce her (now NBC Universal Entertainment Japan).
It was in January of 2010 that her followers learned about her big debut. She was a gravure model for the cover of Ysaku Kitano’s novel Maid Road Reload, released on April 26, 2010, by ASCII Media Works’s Media Works Bunko imprint, a few years before her breakthrough.
Kurosaki’s first album, H.O.T.D., was released on September 22, 2010. In addition to her role as a voice actress, she made an appearance in episode 12 of the series.
Throughout the album’s release and the airing of the anime, she gave weekly performances of songs from it at Dear Stage (beginning on July 7) from 2010’s release.
Another album anniversary celebration was held at Yokohama’s Animate on October 16, 2010. Starting on October 7, 2010, Kurosaki hosted the weekly Thursday edition of the radio programme A&G Artist Zone 2h. She remained in this role until the end of the year.
On November 24, 2010, she launched her first single, “MagicWorld,” and to celebrate, she held a concert at Dear Stage.
