He set numerous school records, including the most tackles in a season (183) and a career (185), among others (440). Following graduation from college, he played professionally for six years, from 1981 to 1987, for clubs like the Kansas City Chiefs, Green Bay Packers, Detroit Lions, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
