Can you believe Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan Season 2 has been out for more than three years — three years! —? But Season 3 is officially here, and we’re only hours away from watching John Krasinski reprise his role as the titular Jack Ryan. This season, Amazon Prime Video is expecting huge things, and it should. In the years since we last saw new episodes of Jack Ryan, Prime Video has established itself as the leading streaming destination for military thrillers based on blockbuster book series, so it’s a safe bet that this will be the most successful season yet.
We’ve been waiting for Season 3 news since Season 2 debuted in October 2019, but specifics have been scarce. However, Amazon Prime Video has now released a flurry of information about Jack Ryan Season 3, including a release date, a new trailer, and other details. Here’s all we know about Season 3 of Jack Ryan.
Jack Ryan Season 3
On October 27, 2022, Amazon Prime Video published the first trailer for Jack Ryan Season 3. The latest teaser has our hero fleeing the CIA (!!!) while urgently attempting to prevent Russian bad guys from beginning World War III. The trailer is available in the Jack Ryan Season 3 Trailer section below.
Jack Ryan Season 3 release date
Jack Ryan was a ghost after launching on Prime Video on August 31, 2018 and returning for a second season on October 31, 2019. Even though we knew Season 3 was coming, Amazon remained silent for years; Season 3 was revealed extremely early in February 2019. But then there was nothing! Years later, in September 2022, a sensitive dossier arrived on my desk, revealing the debut date for Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan Season 3: December 21, 2022. That’s more than three years in between seasons. Better late than never, right? On that day, all eight episodes will be released.
Trailer
Prime Video published the first trailer for Season 3 on October 27, 2022. It depicts Jack on the run after defecting from the CIA, with his old coworkers on his tail as they try to apprehend him.
What we know so far
According to Amazon, the forthcoming chapter depicts a drastically different season of Jack Ryan.
“In the third season of the action-thriller series, Jack Ryan is working as a CIA case officer in Rome when he learns that the Sokol Project, a covert plot to revive the Soviet Empire, has been resurrected more than 50 years after it was assumed to have been snuffed out. Jack goes on a trip to check the intelligence, but things rapidly go wrong, and he is wrongfully accused of being part of a broader scheme.
Accused of treason and facing an arrest warrant, Jack is forced to flee his own nation if he hopes to find the renegade faction before it’s too late. Crossing Europe while being pursued by former allies and new adversaries alike, Jack races against the time to prevent a chain reaction of destabilizing conflicts from causing global disaster.”
