A fight is being waged by nearby residents and park visitors who, like Puebla’s second-largest park, are against proposals to host a music festival there in October.
Tecate Comuna will return to Parque Ecológico Revolución Mexicana on October 22–23 after a two-year break because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The musicians will play on a massive stage built on top of a grass field for the thousands of attendees.
Concerned locals claim they have gathered 3,000 petitions to halt the festival. To have the event cancelled, they are also getting ready to sue the organisers.
The organisation was cited as saying, “We must highlight to the authorities that the Parque Ecológico is not the best venue to carry out this conduct that hurts nature. The park here is intended for kids. As the city’s lung, it is. The next generations will suffer if we don’t fight for playgrounds and sports facilities.

Long-term diabetes afflicted the governor of Puebla, causing a host of medical problems, including the amputation of his right foot in 2014.
After having his foot amputated, Barbosa claimed that the problems that led to the loss of his foot were brought on by his refusal to accept that he had the disease and the neglect of his own needs despite being told about them.
Sepsis, surgery to remove his gallbladder, and foot amputation were all outcomes of his foot infection. Barbosa’s health was hampered by his diabetes, which caused eye problems, including glaucoma, despite receiving the necessary therapy.

Who was Miguel Barbosa Huerta?
As the governor of Puebla, Luis Miguel Gerónimo Barbosa Huerta was a Morena-aligned politician.
From 2000 to 2003, he was a federal deputy in addition to serving as a senator for the LXII and LXIII sessions of the Mexican Congress.
In the general election in 2018 and the special election in 2019, he stood for governor of Puebla on behalf of the coalition Juntos Haremos Historia, which Morena, the Labor Party (PT), and the Social Encounter Party (PES) founded.
Miguel Barbosa Huerta Early Life
In Zinacatepec, Barbosa was born on September 30, 1959. When he was ten years old, his family moved to Tehuacán; he stayed there until he travelled to Mexico City to enrol at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
After receiving his law degree from the UNAM, he settled back in Tehuacán and started the firm Barbosa Huerta y Asociados.
Political Career
In 1994, Barbosa became a member of the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD), and by 1998, he had advanced to the positions of state political leader and national political councillor.
Two years after becoming a federal deputy in the LVIII Legislature, he abandoned his law business and started serving on the Public Safety, Navy, and Parliamentary Practices committees.
Following his three-year stint in the Chamber of Deputies, Barbosa had several PRD positions, including serving from 2008 to 2012 as a member of the party’s National Political Commission. He furthermore worked at this time as the PRD group Nueva Izquierda’s national coordinator.
Senate (2012 -2018)
Barbosa served in the LXII and LXIII Legislatures from 2012 to 2018 after being chosen by the PRD to do in the Senate of the Republic.
From 2012 through 2017, he oversaw the PRD party’s operations in the Senate. He chose to quit rather than be dismissed after backing Andrés Manuel López Obrador as the party’s candidate for president in 2018 in the wake of López Obrador’s expulsion a few years prior.

Gubernatorial campaign

In the 2018 gubernatorial election, Barbosa ran as the representative of the coalition Juntos Haremos Historia (Together We’ll Make History). Still, Martha Érika Alonso Hidalgo won by four more percentage points on behalf of her PAN-led partnership.
Early in December 2018, after supporters of Barbosa filed a lawsuit contesting the election results, the Superior Chamber of the Federal Electoral Tribunal affirmed Alonso’s victory.
