“Boobie Miles” Miles Adam Sanders, a running back with the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League, was born on May 1, 1997. (NFL). In the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft, the Eagles selected him after he played college football for Penn State. Miles attended the elite Woodland Hills High School in his hometown of Swissvale, Pennsylvania, where he was a three-year starting running back. Swissvale is a borough located 9 miles east of Pittsburgh’s downtown. Sanders chose Penn State over a number of other offers, including one from his local team, the Pittsburgh Panthers, after winning the Mr. Football award for Pennsylvania during his senior year and going to the Under Armour All-America Game.
Miles participated in 12 games in 2017, one of which was his first college start. On November 11, 2017, he began his first game against Rutgers. Sanders received the Red Worrell Award in 2018, given to the offensive player throughout spring practice who most exhibited exceptional conduct, loyalty, attention, attitude, and progress. Sanders was designated Penn State’s starting running back when Barkley left the school after the 2017 campaign. In the 2018 campaign, Sanders started 13 out of 13 games. He ran the ball 19 times for 91 yards and two touchdowns against Appalachian State on September 1 in his junior season debut. In overtime, a game-winning touchdown of 4 yards was also scored. He was selected the offensive player of the week by the coaching staff as a result of his performance. On September 21, Sanders played in one of the year’s most memorable games against Illinois. On 22 carries, he carried for a career-high 200 yards. He also had a career-high three rushing touchdowns when the game was over. He subsequently received the Big 10 Co-Offensive Player of the Week award.
With 1,274 rushing yards at the end of the season, Sanders was ranked 2nd in the Big Ten and No. 15 overall, No. 4 in the FBS with 98 rushing yards per game, and No. 5 in the Big Ten and No. 40 overall with 5.79 yards per carry. He also placed sixth in the Big Ten for both all-purpose yards per game and running touchdowns (with 9 each) (108.7). On January 3, 2019, Sanders made the decision to forgo playing his senior year of college football in favour of entering the NFL Draft.
