Over the weekend, he criticized Senator Kátia Abreu (PP-TO), chair of the Senate’s External Relations Committee, for making her even a target of government allies.
Previously, Araújo had already been interviewed by former chancellors and diplomats for the foreign policy implemented since taking office in 2019. A little-known diplomat before commanding the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Araújo created friction with business partners in Brazil and even declared that the country could become an “international pariah” to defend freedom.
