F5 – Nerdices – ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ with Keanu Reeves has a strong release despite bugs

The long-awaited game “Cyberpunk 2077” from CD Projekt met with great interest this Thursday (10). However, some players have complained of technical issues or bugs with the Polish developer’s latest title.

The game, which took eight years to develop, is set in a complex futuristic city where players take on the role of a customizable outlaw mercenary named V. Among the characters there is also one who was inspired by the movie star Keanu Reeves 56.

The launch comes after being postponed three times, at a time when the Covid-19 pandemic has increased demand for games. However, new titles are in short supply as developers struggle to meet deadlines for working remotely.

Adam Kicinski, chief executive of CD Projekt, told reporters that while the company wants fewer bugs in the game, it is not considering delaying the launch for the fourth time. Lyra Li, an analyst at Jefferies, estimates that ‘Cyberpunk’, which costs $ 59.99 (more than $ 300) in its basic version, could sell 33 million units by the end of 2021.

Cyberpunk 2077 is CD Projekt’s biggest game since The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released in 2015. Witcher’s success made CD Projekt one of the largest publicly traded companies in Poland with a market value of US $ 10 8 billion (almost R $ 55 billion).

‘Cyberpunk’ is available for computers and Sony’s PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Xbox One consoles and will be released for the next generation of video games in 2021.
