The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a tragic traffic incident in Holmes County early on Friday morning.
According to FHP officials, the incident took place on Highway 79, a little distance north of Bonifay, at roughly six in the morning.
According to troopers, a biker was riding north on Highway 79, while a 28-year-old guy from Bonifay was driving his pickup truck south. The pickup truck entered the northbound lane and struck the motorcycle’s front end. According to FHP officials, this caused the motorcycle to impale into the front of the vehicle.
A news statement stated that a 45-year-old Hartford, Alabama resident was flung from the motorcycle and perished.
The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office, Bonifay Police Department, and Holmes County EMS provided support to the Florida Highway Patrol while they were on the site.
This incident is currently being looked into by officials.
