On Thursday, April 11, the Cannes Film Festival revealed its 2024 schedule, which included the fictionalized biographical “The Apprentice,” starring Donald Trump. Ali Abbasi’s drama film will have its premiere at the yearly festival in May. After the lineup confirmation, the first look at Jeremy Strong as Roy Cohn and Sebastian Stan as the youthful former US president were made public.
About The Apprentice
The Apprentice will address the American political landscape of the 1970s, when Trump was still forging his way through the ranks. “The story of how a young Donald Trump started his real estate business in 1970s and 1980s New York with the helping hand of infamous lawyer Roy Cohn,” reads the official synopsis.
For his collaboration with Senator Joseph McCarthy during the Second Red Scare, Roy Cohn is well-known. “The Apprentice is a dive into the underbelly of the American empire,” reads the movie’s logline. It follows the rise of a teenage Donald Trump to prominence via a shady agreement with powerful right-wing attorney and political fixer Roy Cohn. A fantastic cast plays a number of key roles in the movie.
