In a recent court document, attorneys for Angelina Jolie claim that her former partner Brad Pitt mistreated her before the 2016 plane incident that precipitated her divorce.
In the ongoing legal dispute between the ex-couple and their French winery, Château Miraval, the actress’s legal team filed a motion on April 4th, requesting access to communications that they claim show Pitt, 60, refused to allow Jolie, 48, to sell her portion of the winery to him unless she signed a “more onerous” and “expansive” non-disclosure agreement.
Pitt and Jolie have split custody of their six children, Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and the twins Vivienne and Knox, who were all between the ages of 8 and 15 at the time of the reported plane brawl, since the pair was officially declared legally divorced in 2019.
No feedback was given. “This is a pattern of behavior—whenever there is a decision that goes against the other side, they consistently choose to introduce misleading, inaccurate, and/or irrelevant information as a distraction,” a source with knowledge of the dispute said, nonetheless.
According to the insider, “There was a lengthy custody trial that involved the entire history of their relationship and a judge who heard all the evidence still granted him 50/50 custody.”
Pitt refuted any abuse in relation to the 2016 plane incident, and the FBI ended its investigation in November 2016 without filing any charges against Pitt. Additionally, DCFS wrapped up its investigation into the incident that same month and found no evidence of maltreatment.
