On Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu underwent successful hernia surgery, just as opposition with his government grows amid a brutal confrontation with Hamas in Gaza.
Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s prime leader, will be released from the hospital on Tuesday afternoon following a hernia operation, according to his office, citing medical advice.
“The prime minister is feeling very well, and he continues to carry out his daily routine from the hospital,” the statement stated.
Prior to this, the Jerusalem-based Hadassah Medical Center reported Netanyahu was recovering from a successful hernia surgery on Monday and was conscious and communicating with relatives. The length of time it could take was not indicated.
What is Hernia?
A hernia occurs when there is a weakening or hole in the peritoneum, the muscular membrane that normally holds abdominal organs in position.
This peritoneal defect permits organs and tissues to press through, or herniate, creating a bulge.
When the person lies down, the lump may dissolve, but it might also be pushed back into the body. Coughing may cause it to resurface.
