Jiri Suchi, a former hockey player for the Halifax Mooseheads, passed away in a car accident, the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) team announced on social media on Sunday morning.
What Happened to Jiri Suchy?
In total, Suchy, 36, appeared in 118 games for the Mooseheads in the 2005–06 and 2006–07 seasons. During his two years with Halifax, he scored 10 goals and provided 26 assists.
After his stint in Canada, he returned to his home nation of the Czech Republic, where he played for a number of years, alternating between the first and second divisions before moving on to Slovakia and Germany.

Former winger Bryce Swan, who played with Suchy in Halifax, spoke highly of the influence his former teammate had on the ice.
“The hardest hitter I have ever played with, without a doubt. It pains to do this. Such a loss, Swan remarked in a social media post.
