The incident of a police shooting in Palm Bay, Florida, went viral this week. On Sunday afternoon, the police officers responded in the direction of a domestic call stating about some disturbance. While reaching the destination, they found a young man fully equipped with arms.
Local authorities stated that in response to a domestic call, they sent some officers to investigate, but while reaching the location, they encountered a 24-year-old man equipped with deadly arms. Police Chief Mariano Augello of Palm Bay said in a news conference that the man named Brandon Kapas refused to cooperate and comply with the officer’s command.
After a short period, a gunfire exchange started between the officers and Kapas, and he fled the location, leaving the officers with injuries. Soon, another team of officials reached the location and started engaging with the gunman. The other officers committed to open fire on the Kapas to stop and neutralize a threat to the community. The man was killed in an encounter by the other engaging officer. However, the police have not publicly revealed the identity of the deceased and other officers who are still suffering from injuries.
The two men died in one incident; one is the gunman, and the other’s name is not revealed yet. The residents revealed they heard at least 9 gunshots and later found two dead bodies in the hotspot area. The police chief confirmed to the media that two officers were injured and they were under the supervision of the doctors. Further, he stated about the wounds; one officer got a shot in his arm while one was in a leg.
After the encounter in the hotspot area, a large police force gathered there with petrol cars. They blocked the whole incident area and let no one enter. The officers started investigating by taking information from the locals who were present during that time and also took CCTV recordings for further analysis. The residents started shooting the video and uploaded it over social media platforms. All the people are seen on the streets with their neighbors, thanking god for saving and letting them out of the incident.
