Tony Lloyd was born on 25 February 1950 in Stretford, Lancashire, England. He was a British Labor Party politician. His parents’ names were Sidney Lloyd and Cecily (née Boyte). He obtained a B.Sc. degree in Mathematics from the University of Nottingham. He received an MBA degree from Manchester Business School. He served as a Member of Parliament (MP) for 36 years. He served as MP for Manchester Central from 1997 to 2012. But recently he died on 17 January 2024 at the age of 73.
His granddaughters, Carmen and Carys, following his recent death, Sir Keir said: “The death of Sir Tony Lloyd today is a terrible loss. Following his death, Commons Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle paid tribute to him, saying “His death is a tragedy not only for his family and those who loved him so much, but especially for the House of Commons.” It’s a tragedy.
