SASSA is a federal government organization administering The South African Social Security System. People get welfare subsidies through this organization.
The Social Relief of Distress Award, or SASSA, has been given to South African citizens by the South African government to the people who are unable to meet their basic needs. Such people will get temporary support under this Social Relief of Distress program.
The SASSA will award the SRD SASSA R350 Grant in January.
Eligibility For SASSA SRD Grant January 2024
To receive these grants, persons must meet certain requirements, which include –
- Permanent South African resident
- Not making more than R624 per month
- Aged between 18-99
- Receiving aid as a South African citizen who is also a registered refugee may help.
- Out of work
- Not receiving any other social subsidies sponsored by the government.
People must fulfill these eligibility points to get financial help under this scheme.
People can apply through online application and also provide alternative means of application if they satisfy the qualifying requirements.

- Disability Grants: January 4, 2024
- Children Grant: January 5, 2024
Every month, the SRD350 Payment for January 2024 will be sent out on different dates as usual Since the status is updated every 30 days.

SASSA Payment Status
The person needs to provide their phone number and SRD ID number on the website https://srd.sassa.gov.za/
They will also get a notification on the approval or pending status of your SRD350.
How Do You Check The SASSA Grants Status 2024?
To do so, follow these steps:-
- Go to the srd.sassa.gov.za website.
- There will be two choices.
- Under the ID Number Tab, enter your South African ID number.
- Enter the registered mobile number that you used to apply for the grant now.
- Entering all the information, click on the submit button.
- The status of your SASSA Grant Payment 2024 will now appear on the screen.
The R350 grant, also referred to as the COVID-19 social assistance, provides South Africans with financial assistance to deal with their basic needs and basic security.
The R350 is to be distributed on January 4, 2024, to those with disabilities; on January 5, 2024, to youngsters; and on January 3, 2024, to elderly people.
