$1400 Tax Refund Deadline – Eligibility, How To Apply?

The Internal Revenue Service(IRS) has provided 3 stimulus checks to individuals, and many didn’t receive their third stimulus check. As per the reports, there are around 600,000 taxpayers eligible for the refund and haven’t received their tax refund. The individuals have received around $400 billion in the form of tax refunds. Some individuals who haven’t received the amount of less than $1400 would get the payment through the IRS.

$1400 Tax Refund Eligibility

There are a few points to be remembered for being eligible for the tax refund:-

  • Social Security Number: While filing taxes, one of the spouses with SSN could claim $1400 or add an additional dependant.
  • Decrease in Income: If your earnings have been decreased in subsequent years, i.e., below the threshold limit.
  • The upper limit of Income: the individual should have an income below $150,000.

The deadline to apply for the tax refund is 8th April 2024. You would be eligible if your eligibility is satisfied from all the above points from your 2021 tax returns. If you have not received the payment from Economic Impact Payment, you can get the refund by filing your taxes on or before 8th April 2024. 

How To Apply For $1400 Tax Refund?

The individuals who satisfy the eligibility can apply for a $1400 tax refund. All you have to do is to –

Step 1: Fill the Form 1020 and submit the application to American Rescue Plan Authorities. 

Step 2: Later, check your payment status under the “Get my Payment” tool on the iris.gov website. Ensure that you have filed your taxes correctly, and if you didn’t receive them completely, you can claim a Recovery Rebate Credit on your next tax return. 

Step 3: The amount will be sent to the account where you have received the first two stimulus checks, and if you received through a paper check, you’ll receive the amount in the same manner.
