The Texas Department of Public Safety said Karley Smart was last seen in the 200 block of Austin Street at around 5 p.m. She was seen getting into a blue truck. The Angleton Police Department said there was no evidence that she had boarded a blue truck.
According to Angleton Police, on CCTV around Karley Smart’s home, she was seen walking near her home with a backpack around 2 am. The police department began an investigation into his disappearance and said in a press release that “The Texas DPS Amber Alert criteria states that a child 13 years of age or younger who is not allowed to be in the care and custody of a parent or legal guardian.” Without (willingly or unwillingly) being carried by someone unrelated and older than three years, amber constitutes a warning,”
