Why Is Darron Lee Arrested?
Darron Lee, a former first-round linebacker selected by the New York Jets in 2016, was detained after allegedly assaulting both his mother and the mother of his boy. Lee has been detained on four different counts. He faces two misdemeanor assault charges and two misdemeanor domestic violence counts. As of Tuesday morning, he is presently detained.
What Happened To Darron Lee?
On Monday in Dublin, Ohio, the baby’s mother, Lindsey McGlone, contacted the police. She claimed that Darron had assaulted Candice Lee, his mother. According to Candice, her son first yelled at her before grabbing her and pushing her against a wall. Then he punched Candice several times and tossed her to the ground. She was brought to the hospital because of one cheek swelling and head pain. McGlone stepped in to halt the attack on Candice. When Lee assaulted McGlone on October 17 while accusing the woman of cheating, McGlone later reported the incident to the authorities. McGlone alleges that Darron Lee assaulted her while they were in bed and vowed to kill both of them. He reportedly assaulted her throat as well. She also alleges that Darron hurled her phone against the wall, which struck her in the head when it reacted.
Darron Lee’s Career In Trouble
There should be no opportunity for Darron Lee to play football again after his recent legal troubles. Lee was a bust despite being a first-round selection, despite having some promise in his first two seasons with the New York Jets. He was never a member of a championship-winning squad, the Pro Bowl, or an All-Pro team. He played for the Jets from 2016 to 2018 for three seasons before moving on to play for the Chiefs in 2019 as well as the Bills in 2020. With 273 tackles, 4 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 3 interceptions, and 1 defensive score, Darron Lee had a successful career.
Most NFL draught experts and evaluators predicted Lee would be selected in the middle to back of the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft before the NFL Combine. Lee demonstrated his ability to be selected in the first round of the NFL draught by performing admirably in the combined exercises. He placed first overall among defenders in the 40-yard dash as well as the broad leap, third in the short shuttle, along with fifth overall in the vertical jump. His 40-yard dash mark of 4.43 seconds was the fastest by a linebacker in nine years and faster than wide receiver Braxton Miller and Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott.
