This week, Christine McGuinness openly discussed her family’s dynamic while talking about how to embrace diversity. The 35-year-old ex-model and ex-husband Paddy McGuinness are parents to twins Penelope and Leo, 9, and Felicity, 6, who are all autistic. The former pair have been transparent about their co-parenting style in the home as they continue to cohabitate for the benefit of their kids.
Christine McGuinness’s Statement About Her Family
Christine clarified this week on Heart FM’s No Filter that they are not truly like any other family. The TV personality also discussed her autism diagnosis and the way it relates to parenting, saying that she refrains from comparing herself to other people and their family lives. She went on to say that she is at ease, accepts her family as they are, and cherishes their diversity. Every family is different in its way, but she hadn’t seen theirs before on any of the social media sites, and she was rather proud of that. To keep things as “normal” as possible for their three kids, who are clueless about the separation, Christine and her husband of 11 years, Paddy, continued to reside in their home.

Christine McGuinness’s Married Life
In June 2011, McGuinness wed actor, comedian, and broadcaster Paddy McGuinness; the couple has three kids. Both McGuinness and her three daughters have autism. In the film Paddy and Christine McGuinness: Our Family and Autism, they participated. In July 2022, the pair made their separation public. Paddy and Christine announced their split on Instagram last year, adding that they would stay together for the benefit of their 3 autistic children.
They said in a joint statement that they hadn’t intended to share this openly until they were ready, but that because of the lack of confidentiality surrounding their personal lives, they felt compelled to do so. They made the difficult choice to separate some time ago, but continuing to love and support their children is still their top priority. The choice to move forward as the best parents they could be for their three lovely children was not an easy one. They remain a loving family, and they still get along well and live contentedly in the same house.
