Jason Roy is a Christian rock musician who was born on January 29, 1977, in High Point, North Carolina, USA. He is best known as the lead vocalist and founding member of the band Building 429, which formed in 1999.

Roy grew up in North Carolina and started playing music in his local church as a child. He attended Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, where he met his fellow band members and began playing together in the late 1990s.
Building 429 released their debut album, “Space in Between Us,” in 2004, which included the hit single “Glory Defined.” The song was a huge success, reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Christian Songs chart and earning the band a Dove Award for Song of the Year in 2005.
Since then, Building 429 has released several more albums and singles, including “Listen to the Sound,” “Where I Belong,” and “Press On.” The band has been nominated for numerous Dove Awards and has won four, including Song of the Year for “Where I Belong” in 2013.
Jason Roy has been married to his wife, Cortni Roy, since 2003. Cortni is also involved in the music industry and has co-written several of Building 429’s songs. The couple has three children together.

They came out with an album in 2000 that was simply titled “they.” In 2001, they recruited a second guitarist by the name of Paul Bowden, who was succeeded by Jesse Garcia a few years later. Michael Anderson was promoted to his position in 2003 after Saul Johnson stepped down. In 2007, one of the band’s founding members, Scotty Beshears, decided to leave, and Aaron Branch was brought in to take his place. Nowadays, the band consists of Roy (lead vocalist), Anderson (drums), Garcia (guitar), and Branch.
Branch also plays the bass guitar (bass). The Grace Community Church in Clarksville, Tennessee, was one of the churches where Roy worked as the worship pastor. In addition to that, he is a songwriter, lyricist, and producer; he has collaborated with musicians including NewSong, Pillar, and Decyfer Down.
