Mexican stock car racer Daniel Alejandro Suárez Garza was born on January 7, 1992. He races the No. 99 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Trackhouse Racing Team full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series. Before joining Rev Racing for the 2018 season, he competed in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East for the Drive for Diversity programme and the NASCAR Toyota Series in Mexico for Telcel Racing. In 2016, while driving for Joe Gibbs Racing, Suárez became the first driver from outside the United States to win a championship in NASCAR’s Xfinity Series.
Career
Suárez is from Monterrey, Nuevo León, and he got his start in racing in karts in 2002. He took first place in his class back in 2007. In 2008, he made history by being the youngest driver to ever win a race in NASCAR Mexico’s entry-level Mini-Stocks division. In 2010, he made the switch to the NASCAR Mexico Series, where he quickly became the series’ Rookie of the Year while racing for Telcel Racing.
Suárez was the best-placing Mexican driver at the 2011 Toyota All-Star Showdown at Irwindale Speedway, where he finished 11th. He ended the 2011 NASCAR México Series season in ninth place with three poles and a podium result. Simultaneously, he competed in seven events in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East.
