Who is Victorio Palangdan?

Filipino politician Victorio Tongalog Palangdan. He lived in the Benguet town of Itogon. He was the mayor of Itogon in the Philippines’ Benguet Province, in the Cordillera Region.

On October 5, 2021, Victorio Palangdan of the Independent Benguet Party submitted his certificate of candidature for the office of congressman.

Educated: He graduated from Mountain Agricultural College with a degree in Agriculture (Now Benguet State University). He also earned his law degree from Baguio Colleges Foundation (now University of the Cordilleras) in 1986.

Career in Politics

In 2013, he made his debut as a political candidate. He formerly served as Director of BENECO. In addition, he contributed his talents to the Justice Department’s budget division. He has also served as a Farm Technician for the Philippines’s Ministry of Agriculture.

During his third tenure as mayor, he also presided over the Benguet branch of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines.

Before entering politics, he was the senior attorney at the Palangdan legal office (a private business) from 2010 until 2013.

From 2001 until 2010, he served as president of the Benguet Electric Cooperative (BENECO) and as a member of the BENECO Board of Directors.

Palangdan also served as an assistant provincial prosecutor from 1997 to 2005 and again from 2005 to 2009.

He worked as an assistant provincial prosecutor in Benguet from 1987 to 1997. He began his legal career with the Fernando company as an associate in 1986 and stayed on through 1987.

For two years, from 1985 to 1987, Palangdan honed his skills in agriculture by working as a Farm Management Technologist II for the Provincial Agriculturist’s department.

He was a farm management technologist from 1981 to 1985 and worked in the same office the whole time.

Awarded the 2017 National Organic Achiever’s Award and the 2016 and 2017 Seal of Good Local Governance.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) gave him a perfect score for his work on the Anti-Red Tape Act, and he received a perfect score on the public perception and financial management evaluation instrument.

The Treasury’s Bureau of Management and Budget presented him with the honour.
