A mass shooting suspect has been discovered dead after reportedly carrying out an assault in Monterey Park, California, on Saturday night, during which he killed ten people and wounded ten more. The attack took place in Monterey Park.
On Sunday, the body of 72-year-old Huu Can Tran was found inside a white vehicle with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. According to the officials, the suspect had fled the scene in the van. Along with other pieces of evidence and Tran himself, a pistol was discovered in Torrance, which is around 30 minutes away from Monterey Park. Torrance is located in Los Angeles County. On the outskirts of Los Angeles to the east is where you’ll find Monterey Park.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office stated that there were no additional suspects on the loose and that it was unknown what the likely motivation was.
According to the sheriff’s office, the shooting that took place at the Star Ballroom Dance Studio in Monterey Park resulted in the deaths of ten individuals, including five men, five women, and another ten people being injured. In addition to the fact that the shooting took place amid festivities for the Lunar New Year, the city in where it took place is home to a sizable Asian community.

On Sunday, Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna named Tran as the person he believes to be responsible for the shooting at Monterey Park. The body of Tran was found by the authorities inside the van that had been used to depart the site of the shooting. It was stated that he attempted to carry out a second shooting around thirty minutes after the original incident in the Lai Lai Ballroom in the city of Alhambra. However, those who were present at the time were able to take his revolver away from him before he fled the scene.
During an interview with the media that took place on Sunday, Tran’s wife mentioned that her husband used to teach informal classes at the Star Ballroom Dance Studio.
According to yet another longstanding buddy, Tran used to pay the dancing studio numerous visits on a regular basis. However, it is unknown when he last went there.
