Is Riley Clark in jail? Charged with assault is Katherine Clark’s daughter

Authorities claim that U.S. Rep. Katherine Clark’s daughter assaulted a Boston Police officer trying to apprehend her for damaging a monument on the Boston Common on Saturday night.

During a demonstration over the weekend, Riley Dowell, 23, of Melrose, wrote “NO COP CITY” and “ACAB” on the Parkman Bandstand Monument, according to Boston Police.

A group of about 20 protesters “surrounded policemen while chanting profanities through megaphones on the public street, causing traffic to come to a halt,” according to Police, as they attempted to arrest her.

While obstructing Jared Dowell’s arrest, an officer received a hit to the face and was bleeding from the mouth and nose, according to a statement released by Boston Police on Sunday.

She was accused of assault with a dangerous weapon, injury to or destruction of personal property, and tagging or graffiti damage to property.

Clark spoke out against political radicalism earlier this month during the debate over whether to choose Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House while blaming the Republican Party.
