Hall County Shooting Charges, 24-year-old kills mother

Investigators said a double murder-suicide that left three persons dead occurred. Around 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, the Hall County Sheriff’s Office attended a residence in the 4200 block of Holland Drive.

Investigators think Andrew Newberry, 24, who is Ruth’s son, killed his mother and aunt. Later, he killed himself. His corpse was recovered by deputies in the living room. The two women’s causes of death are yet unknown. The reason for the alleged murder-suicide is still being looked into.

According to a statement from the sheriff’s office, 24-year-old Andrew Newberry is accused of killing his aunt Ruby Newberry and his mother Ruth Newberry, both of whom were in their 57th years. In a Gainesville, Florida, house on Holland Drive, investigators discovered all three bodies.

The bodies of the two ladies were discovered by investigators in a bedroom, while Andrew Newberry’s body was recovered in the living room. Couch said that Andrew Newberry committed suicide by shooting himself. According to a statement, autopsies are being performed by investigators to ascertain the exact reason of Ruth and Ruby Newberry’s demise. An explanation for the double-murder suicide has not been provided by investigators.

Five people were killed late Tuesday when a gunman opened fire at a Walmart in Virginia’s Tidewater region. The incident occurred a few days after a shooting at an LGBTQ club called Club Q in Colorado Springs left five people dead and 18 more injured, and a week or so after a shooting at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville left three people dead.
