As family and search party members learned of the Christmas miracle, the Thomas family’s joyful cries resonated across the frigid Thursday night air and across a Lowes parking lot in Whitehall.
Kason Thomas, a 5-month-old Columbus twin who had gone missing, had been located 175 miles away in Indianapolis.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department discovered him inside his mother’s stolen 2010 Honda Accord in the parking lot of a Papa John’s Pizza at 6:46 p.m. (IMPD).

According to police, Jackson placed Kyair Thomas in his car carrier seat with a quilt wrapped around him in a parking lot at Dayton International Airport, where he was discovered by a passerby at 4:15 a.m. Tuesday.
Officers were sitting at a neighbouring restaurant Thursday evening when a lady came in to report an infant left alone in a car in the Papa John’s parking lot at 955 Indiana Ave. near 10th Street, according to IMPD. The missing automobile had been left in the Papa John’s parking lot for nearly two days, according to police.
Back in Columbus, the Thomas twins’ family and friends were now celebrating with hot chocolate from a neighbouring McDonald’s.
Fonda Thomas, the twins’ paternal grandmother, told The Dispatch that she was overjoyed that he had been discovered alive after three days of searching.
Nalah T. Jackson, a kidnapping suspect, was arrested in Indiana.
At a late Thursday afternoon press conference, Columbus police Deputy Chief Smith Weir said the department had received over 3,000 leads concerning the abducted twins.
On Tuesday, Jackson was charged with two counts of kidnapping and is expected to face more charges, such as child endangerment and car theft.
Jackson was apprehended as a result of information received by Columbus police and police in Indianapolis, prompting a tipster to phone 911. Jackson was apprehended by police and taken to prison. Jackson’s identification was confirmed via fingerprints.
