Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, spectators were on the edge of their seats as Barbara “Babs” Thore, the matriarch of the Thore family, suffered from a stroke, COVID-19, and an infection. Babs has often overcome adversity and emerged victorious, but regrettably, the situation has changed.

Whitney Way Thore, the daughter of Babs, has recently disclosed that her mother has gone away. Consequently, what was Babs Thore’s cause of death? Here is what we currently know.

Barbara thore Cause of death

According to a lengthy statement made by Whitney on Instagram, Babs died due to a disease she had been suffering for a considerable amount of time.

In the article, Whitney revealed that her mother had cerebral amyloid angiopathy, a degenerative disorder caused by proteins in the brain’s blood arteries that can cause dementia, seizures, or, as in her mother’s case, brain bleeding (hemorrhagic strokes).

She suffered from heart attackĀ 

The reality star said, “When mom suffered her first stroke in 2017, we were informed that further strokes would ultimately be unavoidable. Mom’s second stroke occurred on December 28, 2021, and her third occurred on November 13, 2022.”

Whitney commemorated the beautiful parts of her mother’s life with the following sentences.

“My mother is our family’s greatest gift. We could never love, revere, or value another person more,” she wrote. “If you’re reading this, you’re familiar with her magic: her southern charm, her hilarious sense of humour, her well-timed witty remarks, her beauty, and her ability to make everyone around her feel comfortable and cared for.”

Later in the message, Whitney thanked fans on behalf of her mother for welcoming her to the program and lending her some celebrity power.

She continued, “We want to thank you for loving our mother. She loved her newfound television career more than we can say!” Later, she said, “The support from all of you made her feel loved and encouraged. We are incredibly grateful that we’ve been able to share her with you, and we hope that her memory will be a source of comfort and happiness for the rest of your lives, just as it will be for ours.”
