Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley, who openly depicted themselves as real estate moguls and the leaders of a picture-perfect American family, may soon face prison in Florida following their conviction last month in a high-profile federal tax-evasion case.
A federal court in Atlanta suggested that Todd Chrisley, 54, spend his 12-year term in the national prison camp in Pensacola and that Julie Chrisley, 49, serve her seven-year sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution in Coleman.
Court sentences her to serve in FCI Tallahassee
Nonetheless, if FCI Coleman is already at capacity, the court suggested she serve her sentence in FCI Tallahassee, according to court documents filed Monday in the Northern District of Georgia. At least one other renowned convict resides in the Tallahassee prison: the disgraced British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell, who arrived earlier this year.
Sam Mangel, a former inmate who assists detainees and their families in navigating the federal penitentiary system, stated that the Coleman prison camp initially held both men and women but currently exclusively holds males. Noting that female national prison camps are “few and far between,” he stated that Julie Chrisley might be sent to federal camps in Marianna, Florida, or Fort Worth, Texas.
Mangel stated, “I believe she will wind up in Marianna or FPC Fort Worth.”
She was a guilty of tax scamming
In June, the couple was convicted of tax cheating and scamming community banks out of almost $30 million in bogus loans to support their lavish lifestyle. Additionally, Julie Chrisley was found guilty of wire fraud and obstruction of justice.
Chrisleys spent millions of dollars on designer clothing, expensive automobiles, and real estate, including two houses in Nashville, Tennessee, estimated to be valued at around $9 million.
In addition to serving time in prison, the couple has been ordered to immediately pay $17 million in restitution to the banks from which they stole millions.
Peter Tarantino, the couple’s accountant, was convicted of conspiring to defraud the United States and filing false tax documents. He will spend three years behind bars.
According to the USA Network website, “Chrisley Knows Best” focused on “the exploits of Atlanta-based self-made millionaire Todd Chrisley and his family.” The Chrisleys have three children together.
This year, USA renewed the sitcom for a tenth season, while E! Renewed the spinoff “Growing Up Chrisley,” which features Chase and Savannah Chrisley living in Los Angeles, for the fourth season. The couple’s trial in June began only days after E! announced that it would air a new dating series titled “Love Limo,” presented by Todd Chrisley.
