The basketball experience, Clark, is set to sign an eight-figure endorsement deal with Nike, following his selection as the first overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, as first reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic.
With the agreement, Clark’s base salary as a rookie in the WNBA in 2024 will increase to a respectable $76,535. The $28 million sum would be the highest paid to a female basketball player in history.
The Wall Street Journal claims that although Clark was approached by many brands about possible collaborations, Nike set itself apart with the guarantee of a trademark shoe as well as the length of its agreement.
Is Caitlin Clark able to receive her dream shoe from Nike?
In the world of basketball, there is little doubt that Caitlin Clark is the most well-known figure in women’s basketball. When Clark was in her sophomore year of college, Nike signed her to the NIL agreement because they were so impressed with her. There are now doubts regarding whether she would receive a signature shoe from the company now that she has inked a multiyear contract with Nike.
It’s not out of the question that Clark will have her distinctive shoe. Just three WNBA players now have signature shoe deals: Elena Delle Donne, who is taking this year off from basketball, Breanna Stewart, and Sabrina Ionescu.
Stewart’s go-to shoe brand is Puma. Donne and Ionescu work for Nike.
Shams Charania of The Athletic just revealed that Clark will get her trademark shoe from Nike.
