Lily Allen and Miquita Oliver discussed about Beyonce’s new song Jalone

English singer-songwriter and actor Lily Allen talked about Beyonce’s latest track ‘Jolene’ and said, “I don’t think the ‘Jolene’ one’s good,” reported People.

On the recent episode of the ‘Miss Me?’ podcast that Allen, 38, cohosts with her friend Miquita Oliver, the pair shared their thoughts on the 32-time Grammy winner, 42, covering an American singer-songwriter and actor Dolly Parton classic.

Both Lily Allen and Miquita Oliver praised Beyonce later in their podcast for becoming the first Black female artist to top the Hot Country Songs chart with her hit Texas Hold ‘Em in February 2024. Furthermore, the music debuted at number two on the Hot 100 chart.

Her accomplishment was recognized not just by her followers, but also by famous vocalist Dolly Patron herself. Furthermore, Patron has previously stated that she is a huge Beyonce admirer and desires someone like her will re-record the classic. Other country musicians, such as Maren Morris and June Carter Cash’s daughter Carlene, sent their well wishes to the singer.

When the album was released, fans were surprised to discover that Beyoncé had altered the majority of the lyrics to address her adultery scandal with husband Jay-Z. The term “Jolene” now refers to someone attempting to “come between a family and a happy man,” with Beyoncé saying in the chorus: “Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene / I’m warnin’ you, don’t come for my man / Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene / Don’t take the chance because you think you can”.

Earlier this week, the singer stated that she awarded Parton sole composition credit for ‘Jolene’ and that Stevie Wonder played harmonica on her cover.
