Actor Joseph Gatt from “Game of Thrones” is suing the city of Los Angeles, the police, and important judges in a multimillion-dollar lawsuit over how they handled the matter.
Gatt, 52, alleges in a lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court Central District of California on Thursday that he was threatened when he attempted to clear his name after being arrested in April 2022 for engaging in “sexually explicit” online contact with a minor due to the use of false evidence.
About the Lawsuit
The lawsuit alleges that Los Angeles County law enforcement officials “shockingly and intentionally destroyed Joseph Gatt’s acting career and personal reputation.” This is said to have happened as a result of an incredibly flawed criminal investigation that had no probable cause at all and was headed by an obviously conflicted Deputy District Attorney who wanted to ruin Gatt based only on personal animosity and bias.
The lawsuit alleges that the fan utilized a still shot of Gatt in his underwear from his role on the TV show “Banshee” to create fake messages that were “sexual in nature and pure fantasy.” According to the lawsuit, the fan was not interviewed or subjected to a credibility assessment by the defendants until a year following Gatt’s arrest. He had been accused of a “baseless crime” and “publicly branded as a serial pedophile” at that point.
According to the lawsuit, Gatt was singled out by Deputy District Attorney Brunson because of his support for District Attorney Gascón and opposition to liberal politics. According to the report, Brunson “simply ignored the glaring red flags that would have caused any reasonable person to recognize the complete absence of probable cause” and “held personal biases and animosity toward Gatt.”
In three “Game of Thrones” episodes, Gatt portrayed a Thenn warg. She has had appearances in numerous other TV series and movies, including “Black Adam,” “Thor,” “True Detective,” and “Teen Wolf.”
