The academy announced Friday that Goodwin, a Pulitzer Prize-winning historian, will receive a Gold Medal for biography. Anderson, the acclaimed avant-garde performer, will receive a Gold Medal in music. Horton, who has led the prestigious Harlem school since 2022 and worked in education for decades, is being recognized for his “significant contribution to the arts.”
