Thumped Trump’s: SNN’s Parody On Gold Sneakers

Former President Donald Trump’s $399 gold sneakers were made fun of on Saturday Night Live. In the trailer for White Men Can Trump, a parody of the 1992 sports comedy White Men Can’t Jump, host Shane Gillis played the lead role.

The film is marketed as a “magical sneaker movie for white people.” It depicts Gordon Dwyer, played by Gillis, as down on his luck until Trump gives him a pair of “Never Surrender High-Tops.”

However, the sneakers do more to enhance Gillis’s persona as a basketball player than to enhance his actual talent level.

The teaser shows him achieving his goals, such as convincing his supervisor that he needs an office rather than a cubicle and convincing a woman that he made an impression on her during a sexual encounter.

He also starts to resemble Trump in terms of appearance and demeanor. Afterward, Dwyer is informed by James Austin Johnson, who plays Trump, that “the real magic has been inside of you all along.”

The reason behind the directed words by the SNN was The limited-edition gold sneakers which were unveiled by Trump at Sneaker Con, the day after a judge found that he had lied for years about his wealth on financial statements he used to get loans and closed deals.

Trump is attempting to reclaim the White House while facing four criminal prosecutions. Trump is being thumped for his actions after he was denied by the judge.

He was ordered in January to pay writer E. Jean Carroll an extra $83.3 million for defaming her, on top of a $5 million verdict from another jury in a lawsuit Carroll brought last year for sexual assault and defamation.

On a new website that also sells other Trump-branded shoes, cologne, and perfume, the dazzling gold high tops with an American flag accent on the back have since sold out and are being resold for hundreds of dollars. With only 1,000 pairs produced, the website refers to them as “a true collector’s item.”

For the first time since his dismissal from the cast of “Saturday Night Live” in 2019, Gillis is hosting the program. He gave a brief note to the intolerance jokes incident that put an end to his reign before it even started as he began his monologue.
