Teacher Discovered Dead in a School in Northwest Indiana

A teacher at a school in northwest Indiana was reported missing by family members the previous evening, and on Friday morning, he was discovered dead.

How did he died?

On the landing of a second-floor stairwell at East Chicago Lighthouse Charter School, maintenance personnel discovered Craig Jones, 47, dead on Friday morning, according to East Chicago Police.

According to an initial inquiry, Jones informed his family earlier in the day that he would be working late on Thursday night and called them at around 10:30 p.m.

Shortly after, a family showed up at the school to take him up, but Jones never came outside, and the relative left after he didn’t leave any more phone messages, according to what the police posted on Facebook.

At approximately 6:40 a.m. on Friday, officers were called to the Pulaski Street school following the discovery of Jones’s body.

What is the Cause of Death?

Deputy coroner Eric Graf stated on Saturday that the Lake County Coroner’s Office is still looking into the cause of death.

The Homicide Task Force of the Lake County Prosecutor is also looking into the deaths, however as of Friday, authorities stated that there is “no reason to believe any foul play was involved.”
