Three sheriff’s deputies in South Carolina have been arrested after it was alleged that they reported a dead body in what investigators said were hoax phone calls in four small towns.
It is said that Convenience stores or nearby municipal law enforcement agencies received fictitious calls informing the caller of the “location of a ‘dead body’ within the municipalities,” according to the warrant.
According to the warrants, officers and other emergency personnel responded in each case until it was established that the claims were false.

“I asked the State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) to look into the claims because of their nature. The Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office is completely working with SLED’s investigation, he stated in a Facebook statement. All three deputies have been suspended by the sheriff.
As to NBC News, Chesterfield County Sheriff Cambo Streater stated that he was notified last week about “possible misconduct by three of our deputies.”
